Protecting & Serving the City of Natchez
The Natchez Fire Department serves the City of Natchez by:
- Providing fire suppression and control, as needed
- Promoting fire prevention
- Conducting fire investigations
- Providing the public with educational fire programs
- Inspecting public properties including schools, hospitals, residential care facilities and public buildings
- Conducting search and rescue operations as needed
- Providing radiological protection
- Providing decontamination and monitoring
- Managing hazardous material incidents
The Fire Department:
- Actively responds to over 300 calls annually for emergencies within 465 square miles
- Employs 54 people
- Includes 4 stations within the city limits of Natchez
