Protecting & Serving the City of Natchez

The Natchez Fire Department serves the City of Natchez by:

  • Providing fire suppression and control, as needed
  • Promoting fire prevention
  • Conducting fire investigations
  • Providing the public with educational fire programs
  • Inspecting public properties including schools, hospitals, residential care facilities and public buildings
  • Conducting search and rescue operations as needed
  • Providing radiological protection
  • Providing decontamination and monitoring
  • Managing hazardous material incidents

The Fire Department:

  • Actively responds to over 300 calls annually for emergencies within 465 square miles
  • Employs 54 people
  • Includes 4 stations within the city limits of Natchez
